Agritourism is about the experience of being on a farm, picking a ripe apple and eating it right there, learning how to milk a cow and taking a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch in the crisp autumn air. Whether you are looking for family time in the country, a field trip for your 6th grade class or a breath of fresh air, there are farms throughout Illinois who welcome tours and visitors. Many farmers listed in Farm Direct invite families and groups to experience the farm life to learn first hand about where their food comes from. There are lots of places to see, things to do and food to taste which are all unique to Illinois. Enjoy yourselves but don't forget farmers are busy people so please call first.
